Forever Friends: St Patrick's Day

The challenge last Monday on FF was St Patrick's Day - not necessarily a card for that day but something prompted by it, so I've used green as the basis for my card, using a piece of FF hugs and cuddles paper, some FF stickers and a silver 'celebrate' (apologies that once again the scan makes it look black).

Paperminutes 53 and 54

I meant to do challenge 53 on Paperminutes: 'dots and stripes' but didn't get round to it until after challenge 54 was posted, which was this sketch:

So I've combined the two and used dots and stripes for the sketch. The paper with dots is Midtown South the big apple, the striped paper is Scrapbook walls 'small vest stripe' and the Happy Birthday paper is DCWV.

I wish I'd stamped the swirls before I'd mounted the paper on the base card because I would have done it again to get it more even - still, as it is, I could perhaps convince you that it's a distressed look!

Black, gold and gems

Day 22 on 365 (yesterday) was this template: I used a jet black linen card black (yes, it really is much blacker than this - it is raining now and the light is so poor that it had to be a poor flash photo).

I used gems on this card, so I'm linking for A Spoonful of sugar challenge 43: little gem.

It made a change to make a slim card that opens up this way:

This card will be accompanied by a gold foil envelope.

365 day 23: crossword connection

On 365 cards today the subject is 'crossword connection' - making a card using the crossword printable provided by Pam.

I decided to make four simple cards that will be suitable for the 'cards for soldiers' appeal being run by Kirsty Wiseman and supported by the Bubbly Funk forum. Kirsty's original blog post about this is here. If you haven't heard about this, why not pop over there and have a look and perhaps send some cards for this worthy cause. There are several updates on Kirsty's blog and a reference to the need for all sorts of cards - Birthday, Anniverary etc - but also 'get well cards' are often requested too.

Card 1: DCWV paper and sticky ribbon:

Card 2: Dream street paper and sticky ribbons:

Card 3: unknown paper and sticky ribbons mounted on silver - sorry, looks black here:

Card 4: Pamela Woods papers and sticky ribbon:

Cards for a Simpsons fan

We have two great nephews who are big Simpsons fans. Last month I made and showed birthday cards for one of them; now it's time for cards for the other one, the first one from us and the second from mum.

The background paper on the first card is Making Memories and HOTP on the second card. Letters are Papermania.
